My Neighbor’s Kid Keeps Breaking Into My House Through The Dog Door And Stealing Food

For almost a month, I thought I was losing my mind.

Things kept disappearing from my kitchen.

Half a pizza.

Cookies.

Bread.

Leftover chicken.

One morning, I opened the refrigerator and found an empty container where I’d left an entire meal.

I live alone.

My dog doesn’t open the refrigerator.

At first I blamed myself.

Then I noticed the back door was always unlocked.

I started locking it.

The food kept disappearing.

Then things got weirder.

My bedroom drawer had been opened.

My TV remote moved.

One of my hoodies disappeared.

I installed a camera.

Three nights later, at 2:13 AM, I got an alert.

Someone was in my kitchen.

I grabbed my phone and watched the footage.

A small figure crawled through the dog door.

It was my neighbor’s twelve-year-old son, Ethan.

I called the police, but before they arrived, Ethan had already left.

The next day I confronted his mother.

She looked horrified.

She said she had no idea.

Ethan eventually admitted he’d been entering my house while I was at work.

But he wasn’t stealing food because he was hungry.

He was taking it somewhere.

I asked where.

He refused to answer.

Then his mother broke down crying.

She told me Ethan had been convinced someone was living in my house.

Someone he had seen through my windows.

That sounded insane.

Until I checked the camera footage from the previous week.

There was Ethan entering my house.

But behind him, on the footage from one minute later, was another person.

An adult.

Someone using the back gate.

The police investigated.

It turned out the adult was a former tenant who had been sleeping in an abandoned shed behind my property.

He had discovered the dog door and had been using it at night.

Ethan had seen him once.

Instead of telling his mother, he started leaving food for him.

That’s why my food kept disappearing.

But there was one final twist.

The police asked why the man had been hiding on my property.

Apparently, he had been arrested before for burglary.

And my house wasn’t his only target.

He had been watching the neighborhood for weeks.

The police found a notebook in the shed.

Inside were sketches of several houses.

Mine was circled.

Underneath it was written:

“Woman lives alone. Works 8–6.”

I had been worried about a twelve-year-old kid stealing my leftovers.

I never realized the kid had accidentally shown me something much more dangerous.
